Purpose: To ensure all stock damage at the point of receipt is documented for insurance claims and WMS reconciliation.
Step 1: Immediate Action at Dock
Do not sign the digital POD (Proof of Delivery) until the damage is noted with the driver.
Segregate the damaged pallets into the Red Zone for inspection.
Step 2: Digital Documentation
Take three high-quality photos using the handheld scanner or tablet:
Context: The pallet as it arrived on the truck.
Detail: A close-up of the specific damage (e.g., torn wrap, crushed cartons).
Identification: The shipping label or consignment note.
Step 3: Zendesk Logging (APCS Workflow)
Open the Zendesk Ticket.
Set Category to
Receivals.Set Detail Type to
Damaged goods on arrival.Enter the Project ID (found on the packing slip).
Upload the photos to the ticket as attachments.
Step 4: WMS Update
Log into the WMS and update the status of the specific SKU/LPN to "Stock on Hold - Inspection Required".
